Hiking - The Rocky Mountains offer remote mountain landscapes for hiking and seeing wildlife. The West coast trail in the Pacific Rim National Park (Vancouver Island) is one of the world's extreme hiking and camping adventures that includes going through a deep rain forest.

Rock-climbing - Areas to look into include Collingwood and Thunder Bay in Ontario, Banff and Jasper in Alberta and Squamish in British Columbia.

Canoeing and Hiking - Main areas are Kejimkujik National Park in Nova Scotia, La Mauricie National Park, Quebec, Killarney Provincial Park, Ontario and Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchewan.

Skiing and Snowboarding - There are four main alpine centres. In Quebec, skiers head for the Laurentian mountain range. n British Columbia, they head for Whistler and at Banff in Alberta, the Rocky Mountains. Ontario also has winter sports.
